GOLDEN GRADS CELEBRATION



The first graduating class from Marian High School celebrated its 50th Class Reunion. There were several events to commemorate this special occasion. The Class of 1959 was recognized at the beginning of the Marian graduation ceremony on May 17, 2009 at the Holland Performing Arts Center. The members of the first graduating class were also inducted into the Golden Grads Society during the All-School Reunion Liturgy in June.

CONGRATS TO THE CLASS OF 2009



Congratulations to the 134 members of the Class of 2009, all of whom are continuing their education after graduation. These graduates submitted 630 applications to 120 schools across the United States and Central America and received more than $8.7 million in scholarships to both private and public colleges and universities.

MAY CROWNING



Twenty-four second-grade daughters of alumnae participated in Marian's Annual May Crowning ceremony. These young girls wore their First Holy Communion gowns for this special occasion and laid a flower at the base of the statue of Mary symbolizing their blossoming faith.

CLASS OF 2009 MAKES PLEDGE TO ANNUAL FUND



The Class of 2009 presented Head of School, Elizabeth Kish, with a four-year pledge for a total of $4,900 to Marian's Annual Fund at this year's senior breakfast. This gift represents a pledge from 73% of the class.

CARD SHOWERS
Date: June 16, 2009
The Alumnae Office is hosting a Retirement Card Shower for two of Marian's long time teachers - Faye Ford and Dorothy Dietz. Ford taught in the Science and PE departments from 1985 to 2009 and was also the Golf Coach. Dietz began teaching in 1967, where she established the business education department including accounting, economics and home economics until 1984. She has been a full-time volunteer in the business office at Marian from 1984 to 2009.

CHAMPIONS FOR MARIAN GOLF TOURNAMENT
Date: July 13, 2009
On Monday, July 13, Lexus of Omaha will host the annual Champions for Marian Golf Tournament at Indian Creek Golf Course. This 54-hole event is a two-person best ball, amateurs-only tournament. Teams compete for a $100,000 charity purse, personal prizes and several hole-in-one chances to win a Lexus. 

ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME
Date: August 16, 2009
Marian High School will be introducing the Athletic Hall of Fame this fall and is currently taking nominations. The event will honor alumnae, coaches and supporters for their outstanding contributions to the Marian athletic program.
